Atoll by Fyshh
Cloud flexibility.
In-country security.
Atoll runs the systems we design and build for you on our dedicated hardware, installed in your country and kept in sync with the cloud. Your services keep working when the internet doesn't, and a copy of your data always stays in-country.
Why Atoll
The cloud is only as reliable as your internet connection
Cloud services have transformed how governments and businesses across the Pacific deliver services. But for most island nations, every one of those services depends on a single international link that connects to your data being stored in someone else's country.
When the link goes down, so does everything behind it: citizen services, payments, records, communications. When the link is up, your nation's data lives offshore, subject to another jurisdiction's rules and another provider's decisions.
Atoll gives you the best of both. The solutions Fyshh builds for you on AWS also run securely in-country, on dedicated infrastructure we provide and manage, staying in sync with the cloud when connected, and working on their own when they're not.
The cloud should be an extension of your country's infrastructure, not a replacement for it.
What you get
Resilience and sovereignty, without the trade-offs
Atoll is designed for the realities of operating in the Pacific: long distances, limited connectivity, demanding environments and a growing expectation that national data stays national.
Sovereign by design
Your data is processed and stored in-country, on infrastructure you control. You decide what, if anything, leaves your shores, and where it is allowed to go.
Built for island conditions
Self-contained, transportable hardware that is hardened for heat, humidity and salt air, with its own backup power and backup connectivity. Delivered ready to run, with the option of in-country support as needed.
Built once, runs on both shores
Atoll is AWS-compatible, so the solutions Fyshh designs and builds for you on Amazon's cloud services run directly in-country on your own hardware as well. One solution, one team, two places to run it, fully managed by your Fyshh team.
Always a copy on shore, always a copy in the cloud
Data is continuously synchronised between your in-country platform and the cloud according to the policies you set, giving you a resilient copy on both sides of the ocean.
Works when the internet doesn't
Services keep running locally through international link outages, cable cuts and weather events. When connectivity returns, Atoll resynchronises with the cloud automatically with no manual intervention and no lost work.
Remotely operated, locally visible
Fyshh monitors and maintains the platform from our operations centre, while your in-country team gets clear, local visibility of what's running and how it's performing.
How it works
Cloud in the sky, services on the ground
Atoll sits between your users and the cloud, serving them locally and staying in step with the cloud behind the scenes.
Land the platform in-country
A self-contained Atoll unit is installed on your site and connected to your existing links and power. It arrives pre-configured and is commissioned by our team.
Users are served locally
The solution Fyshh has built for you runs on the Atoll platform and responds to users from within the country. Services respond faster and without depending on the international link for every request.
Stay in step with the cloud
While connected, Atoll continuously synchronises with your cloud environment under the rules you set, so both sides hold a current copy of what matters.
Keep going, then catch up
If the link drops, services carry on locally and users are routed to the in-country platform automatically. When it returns, everything reconciles and normal operation resumes.
Take a border management system. An arriving passenger completes their declaration before they travel, served from the cloud wherever in the world they happen to be. When they land, the border officer processing them is served by Atoll, using a connection that's fast, local, and unaffected by whatever the international link is doing that day. One solution, built once by Fyshh, running in the right place for each user.
Cloud and shore
Why not just run everything from a local server?
Because the best place to serve a user depends on where they are. A local server seeks to replace all the benefits of the cloud but can never provide the performance, scalability or reliability of a true cloud system. Atoll isn't a replacement for the cloud, it's the perfect complement to your cloud implementation.
Outside the country: the cloud
For users beyond your shores, like travellers, diaspora, overseas partners and agencies, the global cloud is the most reliable and responsive option there is. It doesn't depend on your international link, and it scales to meet demand from anywhere in the world.
Inside the country: Atoll
For users on the ground, such as officers, staff and citizens, Atoll answers locally. It keeps working when the link is down, responds without a round trip across the ocean, and keeps their data on shore.
Who it's for
Made for the Pacific
Atoll is for organisations that depend on the cloud but can't afford to depend on internet connectivity.
Governments and public agencies
National and provincial governments delivering digital services to citizens, who need those services to stay available in a crisis and need national data to remain under national control.
Operators of essential services
Businesses and organisations running the systems a community relies on every day, where an outage isn't an inconvenience, it's a stoppage.
Organisations with data residency obligations
Anyone facing regulatory, contractual or policy requirements that information be held in-country, while still wanting the scale and tooling of the public cloud.
Anyone who wants services delivered locally
Organisations that want their services to feel local: answered from within the country, responsive to the people using them, shaped to local conditions and visible to the local team who supports them.
Why Fyshh
Designed, built and run by a team with Pacific experience
Our Atoll team has built and deployed cloud-based solutions that are in use across 24 Pacific nations, so we know first hand the impacts when the internet drops out and services fall offline.
Sovereign-grade experience
We've spent decades building and operating secure systems for government, including capability delivered across Australia and its regional partners. We understand what sovereignty has to mean in practice.
Cloud-native, with feet on the ground
We build for the cloud every day, and we know its limits in the region. Atoll was built from real experience delivering into places where connectivity can't be taken for granted.
A partner, not a parcel
Atoll is delivered as a supported capability, fully commissioned, monitored and maintained by Fyshh.
